Extended Documentary

Kristina Godinez is a mother of five children, four of which are now with their abusive father through a wrongful action taken by the FCCS. She is currently fighting to get her children back, understanding that she herself is not perfect, but still wanting her children to have a happier life than what they have now. With the help of her mother, Donna Allen, her partner, Sly, and the close knit relationships she has formed with others she hopes to be able to one day have her children back to her.

So, I hung out with my brother and boyfriend and relaxed. My boyfriend and I went to Alum Creek to view the beach (its very relaxing for me even if it is gross as all get out). Per tradition I made dinner for my brother and bought cinnamon crumb cake (every Easter we do this) so yeah....it was a great and wonderful weekend.

Here is the work I shot (still unedited completely). The Nurse Troll I have had forever (well since I was young enough to remember being at the Care Center with my mom for work) and I just really wanted to give it a little portrait shoot because it is something that means a lot to me. The Paul Frank Snow Globe was a collaboration with my mom because the snow in the snow globe sucks so you kind of need two people to help make it work. The alarm clock I'm iffy about. Lighting that sucker was a booger and I still have some kinks to work out I think. The Ballerina was another collaboration with my mom and I absolutely love it. It was a present from my Nana and it plays a beautiful song. I wanted to document it as well because it means a lot to me too. The hands are my mother's and I think they are absolutely beautiful.

So this morning I got the rare opportunity to shoot in the studio and have my mom come and "spectate" I guess you could say. Well, it ended up being a blast and not only did I get some great shots, but my mom did as well. She is the one who shot this work here. I first just let her fire the camera while I was working on something with my shots, and she fell in love and actually set up these shots. I'm so very proud of her!!!! They are actually fantastic!!! The cigarette with the ballerina is hilarious to us and frankly I am going to use her idea for the Victoria Secret perfume....I love it!

Every Sunday there is a group of dog owners who own nothing but English Bull Dogs and they all come together at Goodale Park. Its amazing basically........and it made me miss Charlotte even more. Also, my friend Emily and I basked in the glory of the Magnolia trees that were blooming and we saw a really cute couple walking around the Goodale Pond as well (posted in TimeInTheSunPart4).

The group of girls I did the same thing as I did the couple. Just walked up to them and then past them while firing the camera down at my side as I walked. The mom was taking the girls out to the park that day it seemed and they were pushing the dried up water lily stems back into the pond.
